The series stars Alyson Michalka as Marti Perkins, a pre-law student who must join a college cheerleading squad in order to attend school. Hellcats story around by Marti, a pre-law college student at Lancer College in Memphis, Tennessee, who comes from the wrong side of town. The last premiere last September 8, 2010 a "A World Full of Strangers" In order to gain a scholarship and stay in school, Marti Perkins, a pre-law student tries out for the cheerleading squad. She eventually makes it by becoming friends with Savannah Monroe, the head cheerleader. Marti does not get along with Alice Verdura, the cheerleader she replaced in the squad after a bad injury, but finds a fast friend in one of the Hellcats bases, Lewis Flynn.
